400 Meter Treadmill Race

Effective 7/27/19

1. All dogs must be APDR registered; dogs may be registered the day of show.
2. All dogs must be at least 9 months of age to compete.
   
3. No bitches in heat will be allowed to compete.
   
4. No human aggressive dogs allowed to compete
   
5. No aggressive actions toward dog allowed.
   
6. All dogs entered must be in good health and current on all immunizations.
   
7.  A judge may disqualify a dog if he/she feels the dog is not physically fit to compete.
   
8. The judge will inspect and approve the treadmill before the race begins.
   
9. Dogs will race for fastest time ran of 400 meters distance; dogs not completing 400 meters within 2 minutes will be ranked by distance ran.
   
10.  Males will race against males and females against females.
    
11. No more than 2 handlers and 1 form of bait will be allowed in the race area.
    
12. Food, drink or live bait may not be used. Bait will be approved by the judge before the race begins.
    
13. The judge will stop the race if he feels the dog may be in danger of injury as a result of equipment malfunction, entanglement or other unsafe circumstance.  
    
14. It is up to the handler of the dog to restart racing; dog has had a maximum of 5 minutes rest.

Awards

Ribbon awards of 1st, 2nd, & 3rd will be determined by three best times for each class.

There will be three Trophy/Medal awards given. These will be for the Fastest Dog/Height of Dog in their respective divisions; Miniature, Standard, and Giant. Sex of Dog is not a factor.

Points

Trophy/Medal Award = 1 point per dog in division. Maximum of 15 points

First Place = 10 points

Second Place = 5 points

Third = 3 points 

Upon accumulation of 100 points dog will be awarded the title of Speed Demon
